The city of Mellrichstadt paid tribute to the illustrious fellow citizen Mother Frances Streitel by dedicating a statue by the artist Karl Heinz Oswald to her in the "Alte Schmiede" square. On the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, as a tribute to Mother Frances, a ceramic decoration was placed on the door of the garden that leads to the Sanctuary of SS Maria ad Rupes. Together with the Servant of God Mother Frances two other Servants of God of the Diocese of Nepi are represented: Bishop Luigi Maria Olivares and Cecilia Eusepi.

The Municipal Administration of Castel Sant'Elia led by Mayor Nazzareno Mazzolini, recognized and praised the pastoral activities of Mother Frances and all the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother, who worked in the field of education of children and young women, wanted to dedicate a street in the town of Viterbo to the Servant of God. In her memory now the local topography includes the "Via dell'Asilo di Madre Francesca Streitel" among its streets.

Sr. M. Jolanda Windisch, in a notebook of the "Chronicle from the community of Castel Sant'Elia", written in German by several people from 1934 to 1946, gave us news of the event with specific details. We read: "The whole Castel Sant'Elia was illuminated, especially the road to the Madonna in Rupes. March 6th marked the 50th anniversary of Mother Frances Streitel's return to her Eternal Home. It was clear to everyone that this year something happened (sic!) in honor of the Servant of God".

Already on March 14, 1949, the tomb of Mother Frances Streitel was opened in the presence of General Superior M. Melania Eberth and her council, Fr. Aquilin Reichert, Postulator of the Cause, Bishop Giuseppe Gori and other local authorities. Pope Pius XII had in fact given permission for the transfer of Mother Frances' mortal remains from the local cemetery, located near the Basilica of St. Elias, to the Sisters' Chapel.

In the presence of the Postulator Fr. Aquilino Reichert OFM Conv, the Bishop of the Diocese, the Vicar General Sr. M. Bernarda Hümpfner and the former Superior General Sr. M. Johanna Ankenbrand, the tomb that kept the mortal remains of Mother Frances was opened. In opening the coffin, the Servant of God's body was found intact, it was placed in a new wooden box and buried again in the cemetery of Castel Sant'Elia
