"A Child" among children
I met her after the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother came in 1905 (while I was a parish priest at Castel Sant’Elia) to open the kindergarten. The Superior introduced her, "She is the Foundress". I was amazed at how humble she was and was immediately impressed by her. When I visited the kindergarten, I always saw that she was in the last place. She was quite serious, but at the same time very humble; her seriousness turned into a smile when she was with the children. She loved to call the dirtiest children to her, clean them up, take them on her lap, and made them happy by being a child with the children.
