“Ordinary" holiness

All her virtues were governed by prudence: she led an ordinary life in an extraordinary way, as she often recommended me to do; everything in her was simple and natural, but it was well known that it was the effect of divine grace. She exhorted me by word, and much more by example, to fulfill all the duties of the religious state, even in the smallest things. She recommended me not to do anything without the permission of the Superior.
