While grazing his animals in the savannah in Ifunde, Tanzania, a 7-year-old boy, Kelvin, was struck by a donkey that kicked him a couple of times, injuring him. He was transported to the hospital in Kahama, about 25 km away from his village. The boy got worse manifesting serious breathing difficulties and three seizures. His condition appeared desperate. The Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother of the Ifunde community and the family who accompanied him prayed unceasingly to Mother Frances to intercede for the little one. On arrival at the hospital, X-rays revealed a skull fracture with friability of the frontal bone. He seemed doomed. But after 3 days, miraculously, he was discharged in good condition. Shortly after, Sr. Cinzia Tonetti, the doctor at the Ifunde clinic who had helped him, went to visit him and - by grace received and expected! She saw him in front of the house with his companions playing ball. Safe and sound.
