Rev. Michael Beckert, parish priest of Würzburg

Michael Beckert was born on January 9, 1822 in Aub. He was ordained a priest in 1845. As of 1872, he was parish priest at St. Peter's in Würzburg, a parish belonging to the Marienanstalt, of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Stern, where Mother Frances served as teacher and superior under the name of Sr. Angela. Fr.  Beckert was at the same time founder, builder and director of the Marienanstalt. He was indirectly involved in Sr. Angela's transition to the Carmel of Himmelspforten near Würzburg in January 1882. Fr. Michael Beckert, spiritual counsellor, died in 1893 at the age of 71. He was a zealous pastor and benefactor of the poor.
