RECIPIENT OF THE LETTER

Brother Franziskus Sommer

All we know about him is that he was the brother of Anna Sommer of Kukus, Bohemia. At Brother Franziskus' request, Mother Frances opened a kindergarten in Kukus in April, 1895. Two years later the kindergarten was destroyed by a fire. Having lost their home, the sisters returned to Vienna. Anna Sommer entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in 1894 with the name of Sr. M. Chrisostoma and died in Denville, New Jersey in 1910.
