1908 - 1980
KRONBERG, AUSTRIA
Educational-welfare activity
On September 7,1908, construction work began for a new mission in Kronberg, about nine kilometers from Vienna. However, it was not until 1909 that a small SSM community and one of the sister’s parents were able to move into the house. To support themselves, they combined pastoral service with growing fruit trees and vegetables, which they shared with the sisters in Vienna. Later the mission was converted into a vacation home intended for the care of women. Attached to this service, in 1924 was the care of kindergarten children and the care of the sick at home.
