In March 1891, St. Mary's Parish School opened in Aleppo, near Wichita, Kansas, but ten years later, in 1901, it was closed because of insufficient number of sisters to staff the school. Meanwhile, whenever Mother Frances was in Wichita, she would go to Aleppo for a few days to rest. It seems that she particularly loved the tranquillity and restful peace of this small country town.
