On February 21, 1985, some sisters and novices left from Goiȃnia to go to Nova Xavantina to carry out pastoral work with the Xavantes Indios in the Mato Grosso Forest and pastoral work in the St. Sebastian parish. The Sisters were invited by Bishop Sarto of the Diocese of Barra Do Garças and by the tribal chief of the Xavantes Indians of the S. Pedro village.
