In February 1979, in Vila Pedroso, a village on the outskirts of Goiânia, a nursery school dedicated to Mother Olivia Benz, Superior General of the SSM, opened. At the same time, lessons in music, singing, dance and theatre were offered to the young people of the Mãe Dolorosa Parish. Afterwards, the Elementary School was also opened. In Vila Pedroso, near the school, a clinic was built to serve poor people and to support nurses and doctors who had recently graduated.
