St. Joseph's Nursing Home

APPROFONDIMENTI02.jpg

On May 30, 1963, the first stone was laid for the construction of the St. Joseph's Nursing Home. The structure was solemnly blessed by Cardinal Traglia who consecrated the altar of the chapel on November 6, 1965. The house, located on Via Longobucco19, adjoined the nursery school on Via del Calice12 and accommodated over 60 elderly people. The structure offered nursing assistance, a medical clinic, religious opportunities, physical and recreational activities and other services. On February 26, 1989, Pope John Paul II visited the nursing home and greeted the guests and sisters of the community. From April 12, 1985, until today, a small part of the structure had been reserved as the seat for the Region.
At the begin of 2020, due to demanding and complicated bureaucratic reasons, the structure and the activity management was given to another organization, which will guarantee the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mothers’ presence and service.
