On July 8, 1964, in a suburban property purchased by the sisters of the Milwaukee Province, Wisconsin, excavations started for the construction of the convent in Goiȃnia. The Convent of the Irmãs da Mãe Dolorosa, surrounded by a large plot of land and a park, was blessed on July 14, 1965.
