Istituto San Giuseppe

APPROFONDIMENTI02.jpg

On April 3, 1957, Bishop Paupini had donated a piece of land to the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother with the intention of building an orphanage, which was begun on October 1, 1961. In the month of May1962, the St. Joseph's Institute had already welcomed 65 girls. The goal of the work was to offer a modern and joyful home providing affection, education, cultural, professional and religious preparation. In the same structure, on the ground-floor separated from the Institute, a Nursery School was opened which housed about 40 children. In the years 1975-1978, when the orphanage was closed, the house continued to host adolescents from Rome, children of employees of the State Polygraph, during the summer months.
