St. Joseph's Orphanage

Closing St. Joseph's Orphanage in Wabasha, Minnesota, the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother took over in 1950 the orphanage in Winona connected to the Lambert Home, with the same name as St. Joseph's. The work would close in 1969 due to the difficult economic situation. In fact, the financial condition of the Home did not allow for the necessary expenses for structural adaptations regarding security systems and fire protection, required by new state regulations.
