On November 3, 1940, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of St. Alphonsus Hospital. In less than a year, on May 1, 1941, the facility was completed and blessed and the services of the Sisters began. A few months later, on July 16th, the new chapel was blessed. This health care ministry would continue until 1985.
